Wearable Arts

Wearable Arts

Greetings Parents and Caregivers

The term has got off to a flying start with the children well under way with the planning and designing of their wearable artworks. At the start of Week 5, 22nd August, they will be ready to start making. We will be working on them on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of that week. Any parents who can help are more than welcome. Please email your child’s teacher to let them know if you can come.

We also need to start gathering bits and pieces to make the artworks.
Such things as:
·      Any recycled plastic goods
·      Any recycled metal goods/mechanical bits
·      Chicken wire
·      Cardboard
·      Old CDs
·      Plastic or metal lids from jars
·      Cardboard boxes
·      Corrugated cardboard
·      Pipe cleaners
·      Cable ties
·      Fabric
·      Wire
·      Chicken wire
·      polystyrene

Creative junk in Disraeli Street is a good place to go for resources that might be useful. There is a small cost.

Many thanks
Catherine Dalley, Sheryl Burgess, Jane Williams
